Job Description A co-op position to assist the PET Electronics Research and Development department in the design, testing, and production/field support of electronic sub assemblies. Candidate will learn about early prototyping and testing along with the development of test sets for new electronics. Student will be introduced and become experienced with programming in C/C++/C# for various CPUs and VHDL/Verilog for Xilinx or Altera FPGAs. In addition, the successful candidate will become acquainted with documentation for R&D including invention disclosure write-ups as well as production drawings and instructions.
Tasks
Develop C/C++/C# utility applications including web or console based GUI.
Testing and repair of production and field returns.
Prototyping and lab analysis of test circuits.
Development or analysis of firmware in VHDL/Verilog and C.
Requirements
Completion of at least two years toward a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or Computer Engineering) and/or an Associates Degree in Science working toward a BSEE.
Attention to detail in completing work tasks.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Managing one's own time in order to meet deadlines.
Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Visio, and Outlook.
Ability to occasionally work overtime.
Mature, professional, and courteous demeanor.
